Define the powder coating finish

Specify the colour reference, gloss level and surface texture you need. A colour name alone may not identify the intended finish; include the RAL code or reference sample where available. State whether the metalwork will be used indoors or exposed outdoors, and identify any project coating specification.

Send the part material, overall dimensions, quantity and photographs or drawings. The substrate condition, preparation requirements, handling and coating suitability are reviewed for the particular parts before the scope is confirmed.

Masking, contact surfaces and assembly

Mark threads, electrical contact points, mating faces, holes and other areas that must remain free of coating. Identify visible faces, assembly clearances and any requested inspection or acceptance criteria. Confirm packaging requirements where the parts need protection during transport or installation.

For newly manufactured parts, coordinate finishing with laser cutting, CNC bending and fabrication and assembly. This helps define which operations are included before the finished parts are delivered.

Confirm performance requirements before ordering

Required film thickness, preparation, coating system and any corrosion, adhesion or other test documentation must be agreed for the specific order. Share the project requirements with the enquiry so the proposed finish can be reviewed for its intended use.

The finish specification should suit the metal substrate, part condition and intended environment. Identify areas to be masked, visible surfaces and any colour or texture reference. Surface preparation and acceptance requirements need to be agreed before coating; a colour reference alone does not define corrosion performance.

Can I request a specific colour or coating specification?

Send the colour reference and the complete finish specification. Availability, preparation requirements, acceptance criteria and any required tests or documentation will be confirmed in the quotation. We do not assign a generic service-life or corrosion rating without an agreed specification.
